It’s an initiative by Shrihind Publications, to revamp ancient literature in modern form and modern language.

Any type of ancient literature, for instance, Shudraka’s play Mṛcchakatika is being transformed in Novel form and converted in easy to understand Hindi language, by team Shrihind, so that it can reach various readers.

Reviving India’s ancient literature in modern format to make it easily readable to all as well, enabling our National heritage and culture to reach a vast number of people, making them more aware of their own History and Culture, through modern text.

All kind of literary heritage would be covered, not just History , but philosophy, religious texts and mythology, literature, scientific studies based on ancient period, even folk lores or tales that can be presented in modern form, will be published. To elaborate, any tale (eg, mythological ,folk etc.) historic record (eg. Related to any ruler or dynasty), ancient text (play, poem, commentary, philosophical teaching, verses etc.), religious text (eg. Upanishadic opinion, Vedic research, epics related text etc.) or even archaeological or art related findings, are to be considered for publication under ‘Ujjaini’, though in modern form and language.

Languages like Hindi, English, Tamil, Telegu, Gujrati, Bengali and Malayalam are accepted, however high preference is given to English and Hindi languages.

Ujjaini is not about categorizing the Historic periods, but it’s aim is to explore all that is History and Culture of our country, be it related to any time period, ancient or medieval, and then availing it to today’s readers in modern format.

In the form of novel or historic book, published in modern language, like Hindi, English etc. For instance, literary work of ancient writer Shudraka, Mṛcchakatika, is available in play form either in Sanskrit or in typical Hindi language, understanding which is difficult for many readers, especially youth. Now, this is under Ujjaini, has been transformed in novel form, Vasantsena by us, that too in easy-to-read Hindi language, which would in future be available in English too. Hence, any reader won’t find it difficult to be grasped, thereby, today’s readers, especially youth, would be able to acknowledge our literary heritage. 

– Any author, who has expertise or deep knowledge in History, art&Culture, philosophy, mythology, archaeological findings, local folks or tales, ancient literature, ancient science, monuments, artifacts or structure etc. can get their writing published by Shrihind Publications, under ‘UJJAINI’ sub-head. If their synopsis or plan gets selected by our editorial team, they would be contacted by our publishing assistance team and then by their consent and requirements, they would get registered under ‘UJJAINI’ sub-head, under which then their book will be published.
