Education is empowerment and to educate a woman is to educate a generation. With this inherent futuristic vision Govt. Girls’ PG College came into existence in the year 1958 in Ujjain under (2f) & (12B) Acts of the UGC, 1956. Affiliated to Vikram University Ujjain, the institution has carved for itself a niche as a genuine provider of quality and value-based education in UG and PG multi-faculty Programs creating a proud legacy of more than sixty-five years. The college was accorded the status of a Centre for Excellence  the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh in 2007. Adhering to a culture of quality and excellence, the institution is striving relentlessly to develop young women as leaders with competence, compassion and conscience with its Vision Statement VAYAM RASHTRE JAGRYAM PUROHITAAH. It was also notified as a Quality Learning Centre of Academic Excellence under Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Quality Improvement Project of World Bank. Further the college was accredited with “A” Grade by NAAC continuously in two  successive cycles and with “A+” Grade in the Third Cycle.
