Shiva is the real conscious in the root, Shiva is the Adi Guru because it is said that he was the first. First i.e. even before our existence. And this is true because even before the Aryans came to this land, there was Shiva, the god of the Dravidians. Aryans came here and started their struggle with the Dravidians, which culminated in the Devasura war. This war was fought for existence between the Aryans and the Dravidians, in which the Aryans were led by Vishnu and the Dravidians were commanded by Shiva. The Aryans won the battle and Shiva drank the poison of defeat with dignity.
Vishnu and Shiva merged the Aryans and Dravidians to end the conflict between the Aryans and the Dravidians, and a new religion, Hinduism, was born from the union of the two. Shiva emerged as the greatest god in Hinduism, known as Mahadev. The vastness of Shiva made him very popular among the Aryans and the red colour Shiva was made Neelkanth by the Aryans by giving his blue colour.
